YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities flagged off the expedition of 13 diesel vehicles of different brands and models, lined up by MBA member companies, MPIC and MPOB to promote the use of biodiesel in the transport sector, as Malaysia prepares to move forward to higher blends under the national biodiesel mandate.
The Malaysian Biodiesel Association (MBA) organized an expedition to Cameron Highlands, with the aim to promote the use of biodiesel in the transport sector, as Malaysia prepares to move forward to higher blends under the national biodiesel mandate. This activity received the support by the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), being the key Government ministry and agency facilitating the implementation of the national biodiesel mandate in the country.
A total of 13 diesel vehicles of seven (7) different brands (i.e. BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota) and models were lined up by MBA member companies, MPIC and MPOB for this two-day expedition. The expedition was flagged off by YB Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities at the MPOB headquarters in Bangi, Selangor.

The expedition saw these diesel vehicles travelling exceeding 600 km cumulatively, using diesel blended with 10% palm biodiesel or B10, as well as B20, B50 and 100% palm biodiesel or B100; in line with its expedition theme of “B10 and Beyond”.
These diesel vehicles were driven by representatives from MBA member companies, as well as officials from MPIC and MPOB. Several members of the media also joined the expedition and were given first-hand experience driven around in the diesel vehicles with its diesel fuel blended with higher percentage of palm biodiesel.

The expedition commenced from MPOB headquarters in Bangi, Selangor. It then joined the North South Highway and exited at the Simpang Pulai Toll Plaza before joining the road heading to Copthorne Cameron Highlands; where the MBA hosted a dinner and press conference for the participants of the expedition. The expedition continued the next day in the morning to the Agro Technology Park in MARDI located in Tanah Rata before heading back to MPOB Bangi.
